Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society

The beginning
In 1984, Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil established the Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society. The Society was formerly known as the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidya Pratishthan Society. The main idea of setting up this Society was to establish educational institutes to educate and enlighten students, especially from the weaker sections of society. Education has been labeled the great equalizer and is a key tool for eliminating discrimination and inequality. As a result, education is at the heart of everything we do at Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society. Our founder believed that our country and society can progress only if there is growth in socio-economic-ethical areas. For that, education is a must. It should percolate to the grass root levels. The development of rural India is also necessary along with the rest of society. This transformation could only be achieved through the creation of world-class education facilities in various disciplines at all levels of education. He had left no stone unturned to make his vision and mission successful, which can be gauged in the meticulous planning and rigorous execution of his plans. Be it academics, students, or staff, his contributions to each segment are noteworthy.
